Billie Jean King

Ever since that day when I was 11 years old, and I wasn't allowed in a photo because I wasn't wearing a tennis skirt, I knew that I wanted to change the sport.

- Billie Jean King

In the 1970’s there were differences between the way men and women were treated especially when it came to sports. Billie Jean King protested, spoke her voice and beat Bobby Riggs in the infamous “Battle of the Sexes” match so that women athletes can now have equal prize and be treated equally compared to their male counterparts.
